Déagol was the Stoor-hobbit of the Gladden Fields who pulled the One Ring out of the bed of the Anduin, where it had lain since the death of Isildur, and was strangled for it within the hour by his friend Sméagol.

NandorDenethor, son of Lenwë, led part of the Nandor over the Blue Mountains into Ossiriand, where they became the Green-elves and were welcomed by Thingol as kin. He was slain on Amon Ereb in the First Battle of Beleriand before the rising of the Sun, and his people never took another king.

Dori, the strongest of Thorin's thirteen companions, was the Dwarf who carried Bilbo on his back through the goblin tunnels and hoisted him into the trees when the Wargs came. Kin of Nori and Ori, he lived at Erebor after the quest.
Blue Mountains; Erebor Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck were the parents of Frodo, a respectable Baggins and a daughter of the Master of Buckland who drowned together in a boating accident on the Brandywine when their son was twelve. Their deaths made Frodo a ward of Brandy Hall and, in time, Bilbo's heir.

Fimbrethil, called Wandlimb, was the Entwife beloved of Treebeard, who went with her people to make gardens east of the Anduin and was lost with them when Sauron's war laid those lands waste. Treebeard sought her for an age and never found her.

NorthmenFram son of Frumgar, lord of the Éothéod in the upper vales of Anduin, slew the great cold-drake Scatha of the Grey Mountains and won its hoard. The Dwarves claimed the treasure as theirs; Fram sent them the dragon's teeth instead, and it was said that they killed him for the insult.

DunlendingsFreca was a rich lord of the western marches of Rohan, of mostly Dunlendish blood, who came armed to Edoras in 2754 to demand that King Helm's daughter marry his son Wulf. Helm killed him with a single blow of his fist, and the feud that followed brought Wulf's invasion and the Long Winter.

Fredegar Bolger, called Fatty, was the conspirator who stayed behind at Crickhollow as Frodo's decoy, raised Buckland against the Black Riders, and later led a band of rebels in the hills of Scary until the ruffians shut him in the Lockholes.

RohirrimGamling the Old, a veteran of the Westfold who commanded the guard on Helm's Dike, fought through the Battle of the Hornburg beside Éomer and was the man who recognised the war-cries of the Dunlendings and explained their ancient hatred of the Rohirrim.

Gildor Inglorion, a Noldo of the House of Finrod, led the company of wandering Elves who met Frodo, Sam and Pippin in the Woody End on the first night of their journey, drove off a Black Rider by their coming, and sent word of the Ring-bearer's peril across Eriador. He passed West with the last riding of the Elves in T.A. 3021.

Men of Dale and EsgarothGirion was Lord of Dale when the dragon Smaug descended on the Lonely Mountain in 2770. He was killed in the burning of his town, but his wife and child escaped down the river, and his descendant Bard avenged him a hundred and seventy years later.

OrcsGolfimbul was the goblin chieftain of Mount Gram whose raid into the Shire in T.A. 2747 was defeated at the Battle of Greenfields, where Bandobras Bullroarer Took struck off his head with a club. His is the only Orc invasion of the Shire recorded before the War of the Ring.

VanyarIndis of the Vanyar was the second wife of Finwë and the mother of Fingolfin and Finarfin. Through her the golden hair of the Vanyar entered the royal house of the Noldor, and her marriage was the occasion of Fëanor's lifelong estrangement from his half-brothers.

Urwen, called Lalaith, was the second child of Húrin and Morwen and the beloved little sister of Túrin. She died at three years old in the plague that came out of Angband, the first sorrow of Túrin's life.
Dor-lómin - Great Eagles
Brother of Gwaihir the Windlord and one of the Great Eagles of the Misty Mountains. He fought the Nazgûl before the Black Gate and flew with Gwaihir and Meneldor to carry Frodo and Sam from the slopes of Mount Doom.

Leaflock, Finglas in the Elvish tongue, is one of the three eldest Ents who survived into the Third Age, an ancient who has grown drowsy and tree-like, standing through the summers in the meadows of Fangorn under a covering of leafy hair.
